Visit to Sherborne Church, House and grounds:
First we visited Sherborne church, where we met up with John Carter, Nick Sweet, Roy Limbrick and Peter Brown We were fortunate to be able to talk with Rev. David Ackerman, who told us about the coat of arms below the organ, newly painted and gilded. We also went into the bell ringing room, where he pointed out interesting features. We noticed the unused front door had become a board where over the years bell ringers had added their names – dating back at least to 1896. We noted a new plaque for an Astronomer Royal of 3 centuries past who had been born in Sherborne.
James showed two parties of people his Great Hall apartment and asked and answered their questions.
Then down the connecting staircase to Moira's Dining Room, a room with a vaulted ceiling which is believed to be in the oldest part of the House. This was an area ‘out of bounds’ to students of our era and which used to be a store room opposite the Forms and Staff Room corridor. The room was originally accessed down a step from the corridor.

At the Fox we met up with a group of ‘older old boys’ – Chris King, Patrick Delaney, Bob Gabaldoni, Peter Stern, Richard Statham, Colin Fry, Alwyn Hawkes. We swapped stories over a meal before returning to the hotel. We had invited James Bright along as our guest for lunch.

We met up in the bar and had our photograph taken indoors; after which Grace was said by Roger Fowler(?) We enjoyed our Reunion dinner and exchanged memorable stories of our time at school and looked at memorabilia. Speeches were brief this year. Nick Sweet spoke about his stay with John Haymes in Australia. He also brought some memorabilia that Keith Lewis no longer wanted - including Prefect's scarf and badges. A toast was made to me for all my work on the school website.

Our final sharings took place over Breakfast. Where we wished each other a safe journey home, there being a gale raging outside and over the previous night of which few of us were aware.
